Practice in India After MBBS at DMSF

The Pathway from DMSF to Practicing Doctor in India

Many Indian students choose DMSF specifically because they intend to practice in India. The pathway is well-established:

Step 1: Complete MBBS at DMSF (6.5 years)

BS Pre-Medicine (1 year) + MD (4.5 years) + Internship (1 year — FREE, no fee) at DMSF, Philippines. Total = 6.5 years.

Step 2: Return to India

Bring back: degree certificate, internship completion certificate, transcripts (apostilled), passport with Philippine entry/exit stamps.

Step 3: Appear for NExT (formerly FMGE)

NExT (National Exit Test) is conducted by NMC to test foreign medical graduates. Pass mark is 50%. Once cleared, you are eligible for medical registration in India. DMSF\'s December 2025 FMGE pass rate: 500+ out of 600 students in first attempt.

Step 4: Register with State Medical Council

Apply for registration with the State Medical Council of your home state (TNMC for Tamil Nadu, KMC for Karnataka, etc.) — this gives you the licence to practice.

Step 5: Start Practice

Once registered, you can:

• Join Government Service: Apply for government hospital posts
• Private Hospitals: Apollo, Fortis, Manipal, Max, etc.
• Private Practice: Set up your own clinic
• PG Preparation: Sit for NEET-PG or NExT-2 for MD/MS courses
• Government Schemes: Apply for rural service programs
